How a slab is built up

Concrete isn't just poured on the ground. It's a system: a prepped base, a steel grid, and the concrete itself, mixed to spec.

How it's poured

The sequence that holds up

A cheap pour skips the steps you can't see. Every slab we pour runs this order, start to cure.

STEP 01

Subgrade prep

Base compacted to depth before any concrete goes down, the step cheap pours skip.

STEP 02

Slope to drain

Pitched away from the house so runoff sheds instead of pooling at the foundation.

STEP 03

Reinforcement grid

Reinforced on a grid so the slab carries its load across the span.

STEP 04

Mixed to spec

Poured to spec with control joints so movement goes where it's planned.

STEP 05

Proper cure

Cured on a schedule so it sets evenly instead of flashing off too fast.

One company, accountable for the whole job

Lucky's Concrete is a residential and light-commercial concrete contractor serving Fort Worth and the surrounding area. We've poured 500+ driveways, patios, and commercial projects, and we run every one the same way: a lead foreman is assigned to your project as your single point of contact, from the first estimate to the final walkthrough, and the crew on your site is managed and overseen by Lucky's from start to finish.

We carry full insurance, with COI, workers' comp, and lien waivers on file before we break ground, the paperwork commercial clients and property managers need to cut the check. We don't promise concrete never cracks. We build it right, prepped subgrade, reinforced and mixed to spec for the job, with control joints that decide where it moves.
